Research

My research combines sociophonetics and second language acquisition to learn about how study abroad students relate to their host communities and their language varieties.

Like my teaching, my research experience is varied. I have conducted research in fields such as service-learning, language testing, sociophonetics, linguistic anthropology, second language acquisition, and historical sociolinguistics.

I use qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods in my research.
