I hold a K-12 teaching certificate for French and Spanish from the states of Washington and Illinois. Since 2008, I have taught French and Spanish at the high school level and French at the university level. In addition to the more traditional classroom settings, I have taught foreign language in small groups, as an individual tutor, and in a study abroad program.
In addition, I’ve coordinated and taught mixed-age groups of children and their tutors, both in a refugee center and in a service-learning program for at-risk middle school students. In rural Peru, I team-taught a health course in a night school for adolescents.
In 2014, I won the K. A. Looney Award for Excellence in Teaching from the Department of French and Italian at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
